TITLE: First Impressions Coach (Santo Domingo)
REPORTS TO: Site Coach
CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, Non-Exempt
WAGE: $15 per hour - UP TO 20Hours Per Week
LOCATION: Bernalillo Public Schools Elementary Sites (Bernalillo Elementary, WD Carroll, Placitas, Algodones, Santo Domingo & Cochiti)
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The First Impression Coach (FIC) is responsible for managing the reception Portion of the After Care and serving as the first point of contact for Students, parents, and visitors. This role includes greeting guests, answering phone calls, and addressing any inquiries about the After Care and its programming. The FIC is also responsible for handling payments, enforcing payment policies, and tracking attendance and other information. Additional duties include filing, assisting with special events, and escorting children to their parents' cars upon arrival. The role requires a cooperative and friendly demeanor to ensure a safe and welcoming environment while supporting The District to create a safe & Fun Environment .Any Other Duties Assigned.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Duties
- Greet visitors, answer inquiries, and direct them as needed, creating a welcoming environment.
- Screen and manage phone calls, redirect as necessary, and take messages.
- Check in and Escort children to their parents' cars upon arrival.
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
- Keep Club calendars updated at the front desk to inform parents of upcoming events and After Care closures.
Health & Safety
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment by supervising members in the program area.
- Manage facilities effectively, maintaining an inventory of program equipment and supplies in good condition.
Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of customer service, working with children, and office management.
- Ability to organize tasks efficiently, take initiative, and perform additional duties as needed.
- Familiarity with basic office equipment (computers, copy machines, etc.) is required.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with special events and activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as necessary to fulfill the purpose of the organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Capable of handling repetitive tasks with interruptions.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with After Care staff (professional and volunteer), Aftercare members, and manage relationships with donors and board members.
External: Interact with community groups, schools, parents, and others to resolve issues and promote the Aftercare.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with program teams, at-risk youth, parents, and community leaders.
- Strong management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in organizational planning, program development, project management, and supervision based on the developmental needs of young people.
- Commitment to promoting a healthy, wellness-oriented lifestyle.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- General knowledge of and experience working with at-risk populations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and occasionally transport members in a company vehicle.
- Occasional travel to other Bernalillo Public Schools sites within the community using a personal motor vehicle.
- The position may require working irregular hours, including afternoons/evenings and occasionally weekends.

Equipment/Material Handled:
Must know how to properly operate, or be willing to learn to operate, multi-media equipment including current technology as needed.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature and air quality. Job responsibilities require both inside and outside assignments. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. Occasional after hour work may be required. Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, and moving light furniture may be required.
