Position Title: Technology Intern
Department: Technology
Reports To: Director of Technology
Summary
Assists technology department in general support of district school sites. As an intern, you will be shadowing an experienced technician as you learn.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answer help desk calls, initiate support ticket and provide support as necessary.
- Provides assistance for MS-Office suite (word, excel, access, power point and outlook).
- Provides basic assistance with wireless access.
- Provides basic assistance for voice over IP telephones.
- Provides basic support in the update of computer software and applications.
- Provides basic support for Chrome Books and associated applications
- Ensure computers labs are updated and functioning properly.
- Maintain required hours of Computer Based Training Syllabus.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and/or experience
- High school student.
- Basic computer experience helpful.
- Must have excellent customer service and time management skills.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one- on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply problem solving skills carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities
Understand and abide by technology security policies and procedures. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

The employee is regularly required to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and occasionally interact with the public and staff in addition to meeting multiple demands from several people.
